Synopsis:

In The Haunting of Destiny Dove, the story begins in 1815 in Frosthaven, CT, where Judge Frost, a demonic figure, traps his daughter Enya in a burning house after murdering her mother and brother. Enya is horrified to see her father’s true demonic form reflected in her bedroom mirror as they burn, and her spirit becomes trapped with him in the only piece of furniture to survive the fire—the dresser.

In the present day, 16-year-old Destiny Dove suffers a devastating car accident that kills her family, leaving her alone and traumatized. She moves to Arcadia, FL, to live with her estranged Grams Rose. Destiny’s life changes as she struggles with grief, encounters local boy Jake Turner, and faces the immediate hostility of his jealous girlfriend, Amy. Destiny discovers that she has inherited her family’s mysterious “Shade Sight,” a gift that enables her to see and interact with spirits—a legacy her mother had rejected, explaining their family’s rift from Grams Rose, who is the town psychic.

As Destiny tries to settle into her new life, Sarah Morgan, Amy’s mother, purchases an antique dresser for Amy’s room. Dark events follow, and Destiny senses a sinister presence within the furniture. Despite Amy’s resentment, Destiny is drawn to help as strange incidents around the dresser escalate, sparking visions of Enya’s trapped spirit and her demonic father, Judge Frost. Her grandmother begins teaching her how to protect herself from these forces, a crucial lesson as the demon’s presence grows stronger and targets Destiny herself.

On the night before the July 4th rodeo, the demon fully possesses Amy, who begins to torment her friends, driven by Judge Frost’s malevolent influence. During a climactic confrontation, Destiny, Grams Rose, and Destiny’s mother (appearing in spirit) join forces to fight Judge Frost. Chanting his true name, they weaken him, while Jake smashes the dresser to sever his connection to this world. With the dresser’s destruction, Enya’s spirit is finally freed, offering a silent thanks before disappearing.

In the aftermath, Destiny, Grams Rose, and Jake find closure, having banished the demon and restored peace to the community. Embracing her gift of Shade Sight, Destiny realizes the strength of her family legacy and her newfound purpose, marking the beginning of a deeper connection to her powers and to the spiritual world.
